Branches of Chemistry:
Inorganic chemistry: The branch of chemistry that deals with inorganic compounds.
Organic chemistry: The chemistry of carbon compounds (other than simple salts such as carbonates, oxides, and carbides).
Physical chemistry: The branch of chemistry concerned with the application of the techniques and theories of physics to the study of chemical systems.
Surface chemistry: The branch of chemistry concerned with the processes occurring at interfaces between phases, esp. that between liquid and gas.
